  1. The boys really cook for "Hucklebuck" and "Perdido". More Ellingtonia with "Satin Doll" and "C Jam Blues". Buck solos his signature number "I Want a Little Girl". Ben steps up for 2 soulful, slow tunes: "My Romance" and "That's All"-pure heaven.. an older Webster still retained that trademark rich tone. Ten lengthy traks in all.5/5(6).

  5. The second CD includes a duo session with Milt Hinton's double bass and offers the rare chance to hear Ben Webster playing the piano in Stridin’ With Ben - rather raggedly, I'm afraid. The fifth CD includes quintet sessions with Buck Clayton (tracks ) .

  7. Saxophonist Ben Webster was at his happiest when he could relax and settle down with a first rate rhythm section and just blow. This recording made in the Spring of at the original Ronnie Scott Club in London's Soho shows Ben at his best-swinging, strolling and serenading over the impeccable piano-bass-drums team of Alan Branscombe, Lennie Bush and Jackie /5(2).
